Your Instructor
Laura Uraine
Laura Uraine is the Customer Success Specialist at International Accreditation Service (IAS). In this role she creates and formats content for the IAS website and publications, coordinates and hosts onsite and virtual company events and trainings, and collaborates with editors and graphic artists on various creative projects. Laura has a background in administration support, customer service, and teaching. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film from Cal State University, Fullerton.
Walter Mershon
Walter Mershon, P.E. is a self-employed Registered Professional Engineer (Civil Engineering) currently active in 5 states and previously held licensure (now inactive active status) in 24 states while working for two firms within the Metal Building Industry over a 27-year span. During his tenure with these companies, he held positions beginning as a Design Engineer leading to Project Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, Vice-President of Engineering and Technical Services, and Director of Engineering Council of Excellence (Quality). He has earned OSHA 10 Certification and is a Certified Auditor in the Quality Program of Texas (Baldridge). He began performing Assessments as a contract Technical Assessor with IAS in the AC472 (Inspection Program for Manufacturers of Metal Building Systems) program in 2015 and in the AC478 (Inspection Practices of Metal Building Assemblers) program in 2018. Today he performs approximately 75 Assessments a year between the two programs in addition to developing and providing training sessions in each program.
Dan Halme
Dan Halme is the owner of Halme Builders, an established General Contractor and Metal Building Erector in eastern Washington state. Dan has been involved with MBCEA and AC-478 accreditation for years and Halme Builders has held the accreditation since 2017. Dan has been the chair of the accreditation committee for several years and believes that the industry needs to embrace the future with this accreditation for the benefit for all involved.
