This Online Training Course examines structural components of the standard. See the syllabus below. Quality system and technical requirements are grouped in a manner that makes them clear and understandable.

Technical considerations include traceability of measurement and estimations of uncertainty. Quality system discussions include easy-to-understand approaches (with sample forms provided) for continual improvement, application of risk-based approaches, and handling of customer feedback.

Your Instructor
Vivian Zhang is an International Accreditation Service Inc (IAS) assessor.IAS is a signatory to both the ILAC and IAF Conventions. Vivian has been involved in the accreditation of laboratory and inspection bodies since 2001, and spent 18 years as the accreditation manager of an ILAC/IAF member body in Asia.
Vivian once served on the ISO/CASCO WG 28 that wrote ISO/IEC 17043 (for proficiency testing providers) and represented ILAC on ISO/CASCO WG 44 that revised ISO/IEC 17025. As an APLAC/APAC/ILAC peer lead evaluator she participated in and led several ILAC and APLAC evaluations. Vivian held the appointment of APLAC Training Committee Chair for 8 years and Vice Chair of APLAC MRA Council for 2 years.
Vivian now works as QA manager for a conformity assessment body accredited for both inspection and testing.
Vivian’s passion is to share her knowledge and experience in conformity assessment and learn from peers in the industry.
Ned Gravel is the current Training Manager of International Accreditation Service Inc (IAS), a signatory to both the ILAC and IAF Conventions. Ned started in laboratory quality systems in 1992 and has been involved in accreditation since 1996, including 10 years as the Quality Manager of an ILAC signatory body.
Ned once served on the ISO/CASCO committees that wrote 17025 and revised it in 2005. He represented ILAC on ISO TC 176, the committee responsible for ISO 9000.
Ned recently retired from the roles of both Lead Evaluator for ILAC and APAC and the trainer for APAC. A world traveller in the service of the UN, Ned spent over 10 years deployed to developing nations to assist in the creation and implementation of conformant accreditation programs. Closer to home, he now mostly restricts his work to representing IAS needs in training and providing advice to IAS trainees on the development and implementation of lab, inspection body and product certification body management systems.
His hobby is flying his Mooney aircraft. His favourite topic is leadership.
