This is the 2020 World Accreditation Day Celebration hosted by the International Accreditation Service (IAS). The 2020 theme is "Enhancing Food Safety."

Our job in accreditation is to provide the means whereby regulators can ensure the safety of the food we eat. Listen to this one-hour presentation with speakers from around the globe on how they do this.
During this presentation, you will hear about the real and tangible contributions made by people who work in accreditation and other parts of conformity assessment to make sure the food we eat is safe and free from harmful contaminants:
- Udo Lampe – Founder and Managing Director of Analytica Alimentaria GmbH. Udo currently serves as the Chair of the IAS Food Safety Technical Accreditation Committee. He studied geoecology at the Technical University Carolo Wilhelmina, Brunswick in Germany. He previously owned and operated a farm in Lebrija, Seville Spain and was the founder and managing director of a private testing laboratory in Spain.
- Chris Priddy, JD. Chris is an International Relations Specialist at the U.S. Embassy New Delhi and works in the U.S. Food & Drug Administration. Chris currently collaborates with India and U.S. Government officials, industry representatives, multilateral organizations, and interested parties on legal and policy issues concerning the safety of food, cosmetics, and medical devices.
- Dr. Mustafa Gassem – Executive Director at Integrated Modern Scientific Supplies (IMSS) and an associate professor for King Saud University. Previously, Dr. Mustafa worked for Saudi Food & Drug Authority. He earned his PhD in Food Biotechnology from the University of Georgia in 1994.
- Dimitrios Katsieris – International Manager Europe / Middle East, IAS. Dimitrios is an MSc Food Chemist. He is also IAS Program Manager for FDA/FSMA Program and Lead Assessor and Trainer for a number of accreditation programs. He is a member of ISO/TC 34 SC17, for the revision of ISO 22000 (2018) and one of the ISO's experts for food safety related issues (ISO AG1 member).
